MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

Length and formatting

All papers must be written in English or Polish on A4 paper size. Manuscript, including tables, should be preparing using a word processing program and save it as a .doc or .rtf file. It is preferred max. 20 pages for the length of the article, including references, tables, figures, keywords and abstract (standard page – 1800 characters including spaces). Please divide the article into clearly defined sections.

 

Title page

The title page should carry the following information:

  • the title of the article
  • full names of all authors and their affiliations
  • abstract
  • keywords
  • author’s address for correspondence, including the name of author, scientific title, address and e-mail address.

 

Abstract and keywords

The manuscript should be preceded by an abstract in English. The abstract should contain up to 200 words in English and up to 5 key words.

 

Tables

The tables should be added at the end of the manuscript and should numered in Arabic numereis.

Figures

Figures (drawing graph and diagrams) and photographs should be saved in separate files – the recommended formats: *.PNG, *.GIF, *.TIF, *.JPG and should be numbered )in Arabic numerals and all abbreviations explained in footnotes in resolution suitable for publishing: 300 dpi)

 

Abbreviations and symbols

Use only standard abbreviations and symbols. All abbreviations used in the text should be explained. The full term for which an abbreviation stands should precede its first use in the text. Do not use abbreviations in abstract.

 

References

The reference list should appear at the end of the text. Issue numbers should be provided for all journals cited in the references. Examples follow:

  1. Hosseinkhani A, Salehi A, Imanieh MH. Effect of Charity Rehabilitation Centers on the Welfare of Mentally Disabled Children. Int J Community Based Nurs Midwifery. 2016, 4(3): 283-285.
  2. Mukherjee S. The gene: an intimate history. Scribner, New York, 2016.

In the text, references should appear as follows:

Hosseinkhani, Salehi and Imanieh (2016: 29-35) find that …

In the gen history (Mukherjee 2016: 115; Robert, Plumb 1961) it has been shown …

For the sake of brevity, if a reference has more than three authors/editors – please use the first name followed by et al. Names and dates in the text should correspond strictly to the list of references.

 

Video and supplementary data

AHM accepts video material and other supplementary data to support and enhance scientific research. Authors who have such files are strongly encouraged to include links to these within the body of the article or submit using journal system (please provide the files with a preferred maximum size of 50 MB).
